Stridr

Terms of Use

Last updated 25 September 2026

By using the Stridr app or website you agree to these terms. They're short because the product is simple: we suggest routes; you decide whether to run or ride them.

Routes are suggestions

Stridr builds routes automatically from public map data and elevation data. Map data can be wrong or out of date. A suggested route may include roads, paths, crossings, surfaces or conditions that are unsuitable, closed, private or unsafe. You are responsible for checking a route is appropriate before and while you use it, obeying the law and road rules, and staying aware of your surroundings. Turn-by-turn cues are an aid, not a replacement for your own judgement.

Your safety

Running and cycling carry inherent risks. Consult a doctor before starting a new exercise programme if you have any health concerns. Don't use the app in a way that takes your attention off traffic or terrain. Stridr is not an emergency service.

No warranty; limitation of liability

Stridr is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss, injury or damage arising from your use of a route or the app, other than liability that cannot be excluded under UK law (including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence).

Acceptable use

Don't attempt to disrupt the service, scrape it, reverse-engineer it, or use it to break the law. We may rate-limit or block abusive traffic.

Content and licences

Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the ODbL. Map display © Apple. Route geometry we generate for you may be exported and used freely for your own purposes.

Availability

Stridr is in beta. Features may change, and the service may be unavailable from time to time without notice.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
